Biography

Dr. Donna Moore hails from Charleston, South Carolina, where she completed her primary education in Charleston County Public Schools before pursuing higher education at Furman University. She graduated with a degree in Music Education from Furman, after which she began her career as a Band Director. While undertaking graduate studies in Music Education, Dr. Moore discovered a deep passion for research and information curation. This interest led her to earn a Master's degree in Library and Information Science, marking the beginning of her career as a librarian at both the collegiate and K-12 levels.

Dr. Moore furthered her education with a Doctorate in Education from the University of South Carolina, specializing in curriculum and instruction, and completed postdoctoral work in Women and Gender Studies. Her research interests focus on the history of library instructional practices, the processes of undergraduate research, the self-efficacy of the undergraduate researcher, and the representation of diverse perspectives within secondary school library collections.
